Dr. Jiaying Wu is an assistant professor in the Thrust of Advanced Materials at HKUST(GZ) and affiliate assistant professor in the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering at HKUST since 2021. She received her PhD and MRes degree from Imperial College London under the supervision of Prof. James R. Durrant FRS, and obtrained her bachelor’s degree from the University of Electronics Science and Technology of China. Her research is centered on exploring the underlying photophysics and charge carrier dynamics of new materials for solar energy conversion, primarily focusing on molecular materials for photovoltaics, photodetection and photocatalysis. Her current research efforts are devoted to advancing the understandings of photophysical and optoelectronic processes in photon energy conversion materials/devices by using ultrafast spectroscopies and transient optoelectronic characterization techniques. She is leading a research team at HKUST(GZ) specialized in advanced characterization and modelling to address core scientific challenges for the next generation energy materials and technologies. She has published over 40 journal articles including Science, Energy and Environmental Science, Nature Communications, Joule and Advanced Materials, etc., with over 2000 citations and h-index of 20 by May 2024.
